Setting up Outlook 2010

When you start it for the first time, Outlook guides you through setting up your email account. You connect mailboxes at Gmail, Outlook.com, GMX or your web host via IMAP, and Exchange also works in the office. Rules sort invoices and enquiries automatically into their own folders, and the calendar shows all appointments at a glance.

Office 2010 or a newer version?

Office 2010 is particularly undemanding: it runs smoothly even on older, less powerful PCs and needs no cloud connection. Many users appreciate the classic interface with the Backstage view that they have known for years. If you continue to use existing templates, macros or Access databases from that time, Office 2010 keeps you on familiar ground – and at the lowest price.

If you need newer features such as XLOOKUP or dynamic arrays in Excel, choose Office 2021 or Office 2024. The DOCX, XLSX and PPTX file formats have remained the same since Office 2007, so documents can be exchanged between versions without any problems.

Installation and activation

1. Have the product key and download link from our e-mail ready.
2. Download Office using the download link and start the setup. Uninstall older Office versions and trial versions beforehand.
3. Open an Office program, for example Word, and enter the product key when prompted.
