Microsoft Access 2010 for Windows – your own databases
Access 2010 is Microsoft’s database software for Windows. With it you manage customers, orders, products or members and create your own forms, queries and reports – without programming knowledge. You receive it as a perpetual licence for one PC.
Access 2010 brought data macros and calculated fields – many databases from that time are still in use today.
Typical uses
- customer and order management
- Stock and inventory lists
- Membership management in clubs
- keeping existing Access databases running
What Access 2010 offers
- Data macros that react automatically to changes in tables
- Calculated fields directly in tables
- Navigation forms for simple menus
- Conditional formatting with data bars
- Backstage view
Getting started with Access
- Use templates: customise ready-made databases for contacts, tasks and inventory.
- Plan your tables: create customers, orders and products separately and link them.
- Forms: make data entry easier and prevent typing errors.
- Reports: print delivery notes, lists and labels directly.
- Compact regularly: keeps the database fast and small.
Access working together with other programs
You import or link tables from Excel directly, and export query results to Excel or as PDF. For mail merges, Word accesses Access data. If the database grows, it can be connected to a SQL Server while forms and reports remain in Access.
Keep using existing databases
Access 2010 is undemanding and well suited to older computers on which a proven database is to continue running. Navigation forms make the application easy to use even for colleagues who rarely work with Access.
When is Access 2010 on its own worthwhile?
Access 2010 as a standalone program is a good fit if a workstation works almost exclusively with Access – for example in order management, in the warehouse or in club administration. It is also a good addition if other Office programs of the same generation are already installed on a computer and only Access is missing.
Standalone program or Office suite?
The standalone program is the most affordable solution if you mainly work with Access. If you need more programs later, an Office suite is usually cheaper than several standalone programs.
| Access 2010 (this item) | database only |
| Office 2010 Professional Plus | Access plus all other programs |
| Office 2010 Professional | also with Access |
You will find more editions under Microsoft Office 2010.
Access 2010 or a newer version?
Version 2010 is particularly undemanding and runs smoothly even on older, less powerful computers. If you want the latest features, choose Access 2021 or Access 2024. The file formats have been the same since Office 2007, so files can be exchanged without any problems.
Buy once instead of subscribing
You pay for Access 2010 once and use it permanently – with no contract term, no notice period and no forced cloud use. You save your files as usual locally, on your network or with a cloud provider of your choice.
